About

The studio works from one chair inside the historic Underwood Typewriter Factory, now home to Real Art Ways, in Hartford's Parkville neighborhood. It is a short drive from Elizabeth Park, Hartford City Hall, Society Room, Bond Ballroom and The Goodwin Hotel.

Haircutting and color are offered in the studio to clients of all kinds, booked by appointment only. Hair styling and makeup can be done in the studio or on location for weddings, photoshoots and events, and bridal hair and makeup can take place in the bride's own space or at the studio.

For brides, a get-ready space is available at the studio, best suited to elopements and very small wedding parties. Photographers are welcome to document the get-ready time there.

Floral preservation is an add-on for bridal bouquets and other flowers. Clients should bring fresh flowers in as soon as possible after the wedding, since different blooms suit different methods. A $75 fee covers dehydrating or pressing and is deducted from the final invoice. 3D pieces dry the blooms in silica sand and set them in clear resin, starting at $375 and rising to $500 per piece depending on the resin needed. 2D pieces press flowers between absorbent paper and cardboard and display them behind glass for hanging or in flat-lay resin, starting at $225 for an 11x14 float frame, with extra frames added by flower count. A 50% deposit is due on all preservations before resin pouring or pressed design begins.

Beyond the chair, the studio makes custom keepsakes, commissioned pieces and up-cycled projects, including jewelry and home décor made from preserved florals. Handmade goods are sold at local artisan markets across Connecticut.

The studio aims to help clients look and feel like themselves rather than covering up or changing their look.

Set in a converted historic factory building in Hartford's Parkville neighborhood.
