Boho was founded in 2016 by Sally Monterrosa and Albie. Sally, the CEO and founder, started the Asbury Park and Montclair salons and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, including coloring, cutting and bridal styling.

Visits are booked by appointment only. New clients complete an online consultation form and agree to the cancellation policy when they submit it, and color clients also upload inspiration photos and photos of their current hair. The Concierge Team pairs each client with an artist and service and helps find availability, including same-day times when open, and select early morning and evening appointments are offered.

Color is shaped around each client's hair, lifestyle and desired feel, and the team can help choose the right timing and service before the visit. Color corrections require a consultation and a waiver signed on the day, at the salon's discretion. Pricing varies by artist, based on a tiered level system tied to experience, demand, education and growth, and final color cost can depend on hair length, density, starting point and product use.

Bridal work centers on enhancing each bride's natural beauty for her wedding day. A Trial Experience of 75 to 90 minutes recreates her top two hairstyles along with one makeup look of her choice. Day-of packages are provided on location for the bride and bridal party, tiered by party size, and the team travels to destination weddings. The salon describes its bridal team as a top choice for brides; founder work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, The Knot and The Cut, according to the salon.

Boho also runs Boho Academy, Boho Entertainment, which is a boutique group of musicians for weddings and events, Boho Beauty Circle, which has an option to become a member, and a bridal line.
