Body Smooth LLC runs the practice, which focuses on electrolysis, a method of permanent hair removal for women and men. The method works one hair at a time: a thin probe is placed into the follicle and a small current is applied to the root to destroy the cells that grow the hair. The business says the method suits all hair colors and skin types.

Treatment is delivered as a series of sessions rather than a single visit, and the business puts the average time to permanence at 12 to 18 months. Each appointment includes a little extra time at the end to wrap up at no additional charge. Sterile, single-use probes are used for every treatment, and touchable surfaces and instruments are disinfected with EPA-approved solutions after each client. A first visit is a 30-minute consultation that includes a 15-minute initial treatment, priced at $35. New clients can download consultation forms in advance and bring them to the first session. Session pricing starts at $45 for 15 minutes or less, then $70 for 30 minutes, $85 for 45, $110 for 60, $125 for 75, $145 for 90 and $200 for 120 minutes.

Before a first appointment, hair needs to be long enough to grasp with tweezers, and clients should stop tweezing, waxing or removing hair for at least three days beforehand. Between sessions, tweezing and waxing are avoided, though shaving or trimming with scissors is fine. Clients may take over-the-counter pain relievers or use a topical numbing cream before treatment, and the practice can suggest options. Printed aftercare instructions are given after each treatment.

Payment is by cash or check only, and cash apps and cards are not accepted. Late arrivals may have their treatment shortened or be rescheduled, but the full scheduled session is still charged. Appointments missed or canceled with less than 24 hours' notice are invoiced through PayPal. The practice is open by appointment on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:00am to 5:30pm.
