Body is a sunless spray tan studio in Cary, in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Owner Carlin Spagnola started with clients in a home studio and, about a year and a half later, moved into a salon in Cary. The team now includes spray technicians Francesca Stubblefield and Katelyn Skol.

The studio is in suite 120 at 835 Feinberg Court, between Outwork Fitness and Kaidence Chiropractic. There is no sign above the suite, so look for suite 120 and the word Body on the door. The studio describes itself as a safe, judgment-free space open to everyone. Members have access to a Member Room with comfortable seating and complimentary refreshments, and disposable thongs and nipple covers are available for clients who want them.

Sprays start with The Classic at $60, which is customizable and rinsed off after 8 to 10 hours, then washed with soap after 24 hours. The studio says The Classic is its most popular option. Appointments are offered at 20 minutes for $60 or 40 minutes for $100. Spray for Two at $110 covers two clients in the same room for classic or rapid sprays, with add-ons priced the same for each person.

Group sprays are priced by headcount: $150 for three sprays, $196 for four, $240 for five, $282 for six, $322 for seven, and $360 for eight. Groups above eight need to contact the salon, and each spray beyond eight is $45 per person. The studio says the Group Spray suits weddings and special events. Group sprays are available for classic and rapid sprays, and add-ons can be purchased at the time of service.

The Body package at $100 combines a classic spray with scent, the anti-aging treatment, full body contour, odor-block and hydration, and drying powder. Drying powder is made in the studio. The studio also sells a tan extender and tan-safe products, including Glo-Bar soap, both in the studio and online.

Appointments can be booked up to 30 days ahead and not within 24 hours of the start time, though returning clients may ask for exceptions. Changes or cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice or a fee is charged to the card on file, and clients more than 10 minutes late may not be seen. Wholesale purchases require a registered business with a valid EIN and a completed wholesale form. The studio also offers online training courses through Body Academy.

Sprays are customizable, with optional add-ons layered onto the base tan to suit each client.
