Expansion happens through a licensing program called blushpro, whose licensed consultants run studios and are the only ones who mix the colors, according to the business.

Each tan is custom mixed for the client. The business says its consultants can blend more than 100 shades and that none are orange, with a pH balancing treatment included in every custom color. The solutions are water-based, built on DHA with organic moisturizers and anti-aging skincare ingredients, and are free of erythrulose, alcohol, parabens, fragrance, oil and gluten. The business says the products are approved by dermatologists and are listed as vegan, nut-free, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and cruelty-free.

Four solution options set the pace of the tan and how soon you can shower. Original is a sleep-on-it choice that can be rinsed 10 to 12 hours after application. Express can be showered after 4 to 6 hours, Super Express after 2 to 4 hours, and CLEAR, which contains no bronzers or dyes, after 2 to 6 hours. All of them fully develop in about 24 hours, with CLEAR developing over 12 to 24 hours. The business recommends CLEAR for lunch-break tans, clients with food dye or cosmetic bronzer sensitivities, brides, and anyone worried about color transfer.

Add-ons include a finishing powder that sets the solution, reduces transfer and removes stickiness, and an additional pass that layers on more solution to deepen the shade. Specialty tans include anti-aging, bridal, clear, custom, event, face, organic, prom and rapid options. Blushing Brides offers a pre-wedding consultation with a trial tan, recommended at least two weeks before the wedding. Babes Night Out runs tanning parties and group rates for groups of five or more getting full body tans, with pricing set by location. Glow on the Go brings mobile tanning to homes or offices where it is offered.

Most studios are by appointment only. Cancellations made less than 12 hours ahead, and no-shows, are charged the full service price, and arriving more than 10 minutes late without notice forfeits the appointment. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign a release, and pregnant clients are asked to check with their doctor before booking. Pricing and availability vary by studio, so the studio listing is the place to confirm details.

Aims for natural-looking color on every skin tone, using custom mixed undertones and a water-based formula with skincare ingredients.

Some studios are private suites, including the Dedham location, which has four private treatment rooms.
