Blushaway

Blushaway was launched in 2016 and operates under the legal name Blush Away Makeup, LLC. The studio serves clients across Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland, and its owner, Finn Mauritzen, is the professional makeup artist for the work.

Wedding makeup is done on location, with the makeup studio brought to the client. Packages include a trial, day-of makeup and touch-ups, along with a skincare consultation and a personalized at-home beauty prep plan given at the trial. Wedding clients receive a detailed hair and makeup timeline for the bridal party, and each makeup recipient on the wedding day receives a lip touch-up sample. The bride also receives a custom touch-up kit with blotting papers, powder and lip color.

Commercial work covers commercials, branded shoots and on-camera productions. Corporate headshot makeup aims for an even skin tone on camera, shine control, soft definition of the eyes and brows, and a clean, timeless look. Portrait and headshot sessions cover professional branding, acting headshots, dating profiles and personal portraits, and also editorial, fashion and lifestyle shoots, graduation, maternity, engagement and couple sessions, and creative photography. Each portrait and headshot session includes a consultation, skin preparation, application and final refinements. On-site corporate headshot makeup is available for offices, teams and events in Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland.

The studio lists clients including Capital One, Cisco, Smithsonian, Washington Commanders, WMATA, M&T Bank, Trex and Medstar Health. Wedding Wire Couples Choice Awards in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 are reported by the business.
