Blush Skin Bar offers facial treatments, chemical peels, waxing, brow and lash services, and makeup. Facials range from a therapeutic facial that runs an undisturbed hour to Classic and Deluxe Hydrofacials, with enzymatic and dermaplane facials in between. Add-ons include a Jelly Mask for hydration and brightening, and a Hydrofacial for the neck and decollete.

Exfoliating options include hydrodermabrasion, which pairs light dermabrasion with infused serums and a high-pressure oxygen wand, and microchanneling, which uses polycarbonate needles to create tiny microperforations. Dermaplaning removes fine vellus hair and the outer layer of skin with a surgical scalpel. Because the hair is shaved mid-shaft, results last less long than waxing or threading. Dermaplaning can be combined with facials, peels and enzyme treatments.

Chemical peels are limited to superficial peels, and the business says medium-depth peels should be done by a physician. Options include enhanced Jessner, TCA and retinol peels, plus a 4% Retinol Peel and PCA peels with or without hydroquinone. First-time clients are asked to book the General Chemical Peel so an esthetician can choose the right peel, and clients who are unsure which they need can book it too. Peels are usually repeated every four to six weeks, with visible changes often appearing after three to four treatments. Peeling may last up to ten days, though it is not required for a peel to work. Clients are asked to share current medications, skin care routines and recent treatments beforehand.

Waxing covers the face and the body, with prices from $10 for ear or nose wax to $75 for a full leg. Gold Membership is $85 a month, includes one choice each month from a signature, enzymatic or dermaplane facial, lash lift or brow lamination, and gives 10 percent off additional services including waxing.

Makeup services include airbrush makeup for weddings, photo shoots, school dances and events, and the business states it has more than 25 years of experience as a makeup artist. Bridal makeup at $275 includes a trial at the Carlsbad Village studio, airbrush makeup, lashes, day-of application and travel to the wedding location. A non-refundable $100 deposit is due at the bridal trial. Weddings more than 30 miles from the studio carry a travel charge of $0.58 per mile each way, and parking is extra. On-location wedding makeup requires at least three makeup clients.

Waxing starts with a skin evaluation and consultation, after which the esthetician selects the wax and products suited to the client's skin type and needs.
