The salon was founded by Laura Frazier, who opened Blush Beauty Studio, a small suite, in 2015 and ran it for about three years before starting Blush & Bone. The salon says its stylists receive monthly advanced education in their core disciplines and many hold specialty certificates in areas such as curly cutting, vivid color, blonde and brunette work, extensions, and ethical or non-toxic keratin. Stylists move through a level system based on how much of their time is in demand rather than on talent, and higher levels cost more.

Clients usually communicate with the salon by text message. A free consultation may be required depending on the information the salon receives, and consultations are valid for 30 days. First-time guests complete a hair history form before booking color, blonding or keratin services. Listed prices are starting prices at the New Talent level and rise with stylist level, and they may change.

The client lounge has high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable seating and complimentary drinks, including coffee, White Claw and water, plus light snacks. Clients can wait there while their color develops. Hand-tied extensions are measured to the head and attached with thread and beads, use only Hair Talk or BelloHaven hair, and need a resew every 8 weeks or can be split into 4-week resews.

The salon describes its experience as laid back and luxurious, and it invests in monthly advanced education for stylists in their core disciplines.
