Blue Mambo has provided hair and lifestyle services in Houston for more than three decades. The salon describes itself as a Houston institution. According to the salon, Elle Magazine named it the best hair salon in Houston, and it was ranked among the top 10 hair salons by reviews in 2019.

Hair services cover trims and complete makeovers, coloring from highlight touch-ups to entirely new color, and quick styling for special occasions and events. The salon is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM, with Sunday and Monday visits available by appointment only.

The salon also leases booths to stylists. Each booth includes a styling chair and a mirror, and shampoo and style assistant services are provided at no extra charge. The location is in central Houston, close to Montrose, River Oaks, West U and the Medical Center.

Organic airbrush tanning is available here as an alternative to UV tanning. The brand behind it presents the process as eco-friendly.
