Blendderella

Blendderella is a small private studio on North Main Street in downtown Walnut Creek, above Opa. It serves men and women, including whole families, and the space is set up for one client at a time, so it offers more privacy than a typical salon or barbershop. Men's haircuts are sometimes available as walk-ins, but appointments are the way to secure a time.

The studio was opened by Haley B, who began working in hair during her senior year of high school in 2016. She opened her own private studio in Walnut Creek after the pandemic changed her working situation. Haley is also the director at Stickmore Hair Co., which is where the studio's men's grooming products come from.

Before a visit is booked, the studio starts with a free 20-minute consultation to talk through hair goals. It can be done in person or as a virtual consultation by text or direct message. Clients send a current photo of their hair in natural light without filters, photos of the look they want, and a short summary of chemical services from the past three to five years. Prices are quoted by text based on that information, and the official appointment is booked at the end of the consultation.

Booking requires a card on file, which completes the client profile and covers the cancellation policy. The card is not charged when the client attends. A $20 fee applies to cancellations or no-shows. The work area is disinfected and sanitized before and after each client and again each morning and night.

The studio says it was voted Best Barbershop and won a Best Customer Service Award in Walnut Creek in 2025, based on client votes. It also reports features in Barber's Illustrated magazine in summer 2025, a cover story in Soeleish SF Magazine in August 2023, and a listing among that magazine's 15 best barbers and top 15 hairstylists in Walnut Creek. Google News and Digital Journal also featured the studio in August 2023 as a top barber and top hairstylist in the area.

Retail is part of the studio as well. Stickmore Hair Co. men's grooming products are available in the studio, and gift cards and a newsletter with news, sales and product notices are offered.

Each plan starts with a photo and a chemical history so the service fits the client's hair before any quote is given.
