Black Sheep Salon AZ is owned and was founded by Miranda Asadoorian. The salon describes itself as a place where clients can be original, bold and themselves, and its menu is built mainly around hair color, cuts and facial waxing.
Color is the core of the menu. It runs from glazes, toning and mini highlights through partial and full head highlights, blonding and color correction, which is priced by the hour. The salon uses Kenra and Redken color lines, and toning is done with Redken Shades EQ, an acidic demi-permanent color suited to hair that has been lightened. Extra ounces of color can be added at $25 each.
Brows, lashes and waxing are also offered: eyebrow tint, eyebrow tint with brow wax, a lash lift and tint, and waxing for the full face, lip and eyebrows. A full face wax can be paired with an eyebrow tint for a combined service. Scalp add-ons include a 10-minute peppermint massage that can be added to any service, and a 15-minute clarifying treatment that deep cleanses hair and scalp.
Booking can be done by phone at 480-435-5711, online or in person. A credit card is needed to hold an appointment, and the salon recommends booking at least a week ahead. Updos and extensions require a consultation first. Payment is due when the appointment is finished and is taken in cash, direct debit, Visa and MasterCard, but not American Express. No-shows are charged the full service fee. Clients more than 15 minutes late may have their appointment declined, with a fee of half the service cost. Services are not refundable, though a redo is offered for a technical issue if the salon is contacted within 48 hours.
The salon aims to be a space where clients feel free to be themselves and to try bolder looks. Its color services are built around the Kenra and Redken lines.
