Before opening the salon in Montgomery County, the owner spent two years studying the Dominican salon market in Montgomery and Prince George Counties, and has said SCORE from the Small Business Administration was a significant resource when starting out.

The salon supports Crittenton Services of Greater Washington DC, with a focus on education, protection of children and empowering girls. It also says it helps single mothers with their education as part of its work in the local community.
