BessBeauti runs from a Maplewood location on Springfield Avenue and a second location on Chestnut Street in Roselle. The salon describes its lounge as a place for pampering and relaxation.

Hair services include silk presses, wash and sets, and pin curls, which can be used on relaxed or natural hair and on wigs. A silk press includes a luxury shampoo with scalp massage, conditioning, blow-dry and flat ironing, and leaves natural hair straightened, shiny and soft with body. Clients with extensions, long hair or highly textured hair are asked to say so when booking. Prices and times for silk presses and wash and sets can vary with hair length.

Ponytails are offered in high or low styles with synthetic or human hair. Frontal ponytails take about three hours and double frontal ponytails about four and a half hours. Frontals for these styles must be dropped off two days before the appointment, with two bundles recommended for a frontal ponytail and at least two for a double frontal. Swiss, HD or transparent lace is suggested for a natural blend but is not required. Hair is sold separately, and wigs must be dropped off 48 hours before the appointment.

Weave coloring starts at $50 and takes about an hour. It is added onto wigs, bundles, frontals and closures rather than offered alone, and custom shades are requested by email. Once applied, weave color is final and non-refundable.

A deposit is required at booking to hold an appointment and is non-refundable, and the balance is paid at the visit. The salon accepts cash only and states that all sales are final. Retail items include a double-sided hair edge brush, an HD wig cap, a professional hot comb, a satin silk bonnet and a wax stick.
