Ashley Elliott co-founded Bespoke with a business partner in February 2016 and became the sole owner in September 2024. The name is a British term for something custom tailored to a particular customer, and the salon applies that idea to its haircuts.

About

Appointments are booked online through the Book Now button, which runs on Vagaro and shows the full menu and each stylist's pricing. Stylist prices differ by level, which the business ties to demand, skill, experience and education. The salon asks that appointments not be requested by email. The calling line is 312-646-0233, and a text-only number, 708-568-1918, is available for messages. The salon is open Monday through Thursday 11am to 8pm, Friday 11am to 7pm and Saturday 10am to 3pm, and it closes for one hour each afternoon for a group lunch break. Cancellations or reschedules need at least three hours' notice. A first missed appointment is charged at 50% of the service and a second at 100%, and repeat missed appointments may cost online booking privileges. Clients who are 5 to 10 minutes late are usually called and fitted in if possible, minus any extras. Tips are cash only, and there is an ATM in the salon. Children are accepted from age 12, with younger children seen at the stylist's discretion through the front desk, and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

The salon has an in-house bar serving beer, including Old Style, rotating craft beers and seasonal selections, along with whiskeys such as Whistle Pig, Bulleit, Basil Hayden and Angel's Envy. Clients may come early for a drink, and a drink special runs every Thursday.

Private events can take over the full space for a rental. Options include an Enhanced R&R Service with shampoo, a steamed face towel, neck clean-up and style, plus a la carte Full Haircut, Beard Trim and Steam Shave. A Bloody Mary bar is listed at $250.
