Ben Ko at Golden Thread

Golden Thread is a cutting education studio in Scottsdale, Arizona, located just north of the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Ben Ko works here alongside Stephen Lynch, and the studio is built around teaching haircutting in person.

The studio holds that education is the foundation of haircutting and that cutters have a responsibility to pass on what they know. Every cutting course follows the foundational curriculum of Hybrid Education.

Students can book a one-on-one session, where they and Ben work through a technique step by step on a model. Salon teams of two to eight stylists can book a full-day immersion that combines theory, a model demonstration and a hands-on model haircut. Appointment requests are reviewed before a confirmation is sent, and sessions are offered at set times through the day. Parking is in the public garage just west of the building.

Golden Thread teaches cutting in person and treats education as the core of the craft, using the foundational curriculum of Hybrid Education in every course.
