Behind the Hair Salons was established in 2019 and opened by its owner and CEO, Olivia Connerney. The salon has two locations, one at 389 Main St in Watertown and one at 1092 South St in Wrentham. The salon describes itself as a leader in signature hair extensions, cuts, color, lashes, makeup and skincare, and says it has risen to the top of New England's hair extension scene.

Hair extensions are the salon's core service. Extensions are built from custom, hand-tied wefts that give full fullness from root to end, and each install is customized with pre-toned color. A consultation is required before an extension install, which starts at $350.

Color work covers single process, double process, gloss and face frame services, with foil and balayage options in partial and full versions. Haircuts start at $90 and blow dries start at $75. Lash services include classic, hybrid and volume full sets along with fills, and makeup services include bridal makeup trials and day-of looks for brides, bridal parties and younger attendants.

Booking is done online, and clients should add every service they want at booking, since final pricing may vary based on the services provided. A $10 administrative fee applies to all services. Cancellations or rescheduling need at least 24 hours notice, changes made within 24 hours are charged 50% of the service price, and no-shows are charged the full price. A valid credit card may be required to secure a booking, and payment is due when services are rendered, by cash, credit card or other electronic methods.

Extension installs are fully customized to each client, with color pre-toned to match.
