Bee Natural Locks

Tameka Clark established Bee Natural Locks in 2015 and runs it as CEO and owner. The salon works with locs at every stage, from consultations and loc maintenance to styling.

The signature service is a Sisterlocks package made up of three visits: a consultation, a locking session and a follow-up visit. Pricing starts at $2250 for the first three inches of hair, plus $200 per inch after that, and is quoted at the consultation based on length, density and head size. A $50 non-refundable consultation deposit is applied to the total, and the package can be paid in installments, with the final payment due before the locking session.

The locking session takes place about two weeks after the consultation, and a deposit holds the appointment. During the session, clients can enjoy snacks, a choice of movies, free Wi-Fi and a comfortable setting. Afterward they receive a Sisterlocks starter kit with starter shampoo, rubber bands and a grooming tip sheet. The follow-up visit should happen within four weeks of locking, ideally about three weeks out.

Ongoing care includes regular retightenings to track progress and work in new growth, optional grooming to trim loose hairs, and repairs for uneven or lumpy locks. Extensive repairs are handled in a separate session. Retightenings have their own rules: a full fee applies if the follow-up is missed past four weeks or the client arrives with product in the hair, and the retightening is then free at a later date.

The salon also sells its own locs care line, along with the Bee Natural Locks Daily Journal and Daily Tracker for logging loc maintenance, and books by Tameka Clark. Locs care products are sold at local salons and through Walmart online across the United States. The salon is listed in the Locs Directory, which features loc services and stylists in the area.
