Beauty By Jaye is operated by Beauty by Jaye, LLC and brings three kinds of work under one studio: skincare, sugaring and makeup. The studio is in the West Valley Business Park at 6627 191st Pl. in Kent.
The business started with makeup for a few friends and has grown into a steady client base built around special occasions. Makeup work covers weddings, proms, photoshoots and other events, in either a natural or a high-glam style. Bridal clients can book a consultation and choose from several bridal packages, and groups of more than three, including full bridal parties, can ask about discounts.
Skincare centers on a facial made with Glymed pharmaceutical grade products. A session includes cleansing, exfoliation, toner, extractions when they are needed, a serum, a cream, an eye treatment and sun protection. Chemical peels are also offered, including fruit enzyme peels and peels based on glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids, and the studio lists specific peels for different skin types.
Sugaring removes hair from many body areas using a paste made of sugar, water and lemon. Appointments run from about 15 minutes for a small area of the face to an hour or more for a Brazilian. Clients need hair about a quarter inch long, usually 4 to 6 weeks after their last sugaring or waxing or 2 weeks after shaving, and they should complete the online new client intake form before arriving five minutes early. The studio describes regular sessions as leading to less regrowth over time.
Peels are listed for particular skin types, and the facials are built on a pharmaceutical grade skincare line.
