Be Well Natural Medicine

The clinic began in 2009, when Liz Orchard opened a private practice in Minnesota after a year as a resident naturopathic doctor at an integrative medicine clinic in New York City. That practice grew into Be Well Natural Medicine, which is now a group of independently contracted holistic healthcare practitioners. Its doctors share treatment plans, discuss cases together and make referrals to one another, and each can access a patient's medical records as needed for care. The clinic says this shared knowledge helps practitioners identify root causes and handle difficult cases, and it describes its doctors as among the highest trained in natural medicine.

A first visit is a long appointment, lasting 75 to 90 minutes, that covers medical history, current concerns, diet, lifestyle, lab results and supplements. The first follow-up is generally four to six weeks later and lasts 60 minutes. Shorter acute visits are available for non-emergency concerns that need prompt attention, such as flu-like symptoms, ear infections and back pain. After an initial in-person visit, phone follow-ups are offered, including for patients outside the metro area.

Naturopathic care at the clinic includes clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, lifestyle coaching, clinical detoxification, homeopathy and biotherapeutic drainage. Named programs cover Lyme disease, healthy periods, natural fertility, vibrant menopause, natural skincare and mind-body energy healing for women. Functional lab testing is available, with hormone, neurotransmitter, food intolerance, vitamin D, digestive and stool analysis, and genetic testing among the options. Reiki and craniosacral therapy are offered as mind-body energy work.

The clinic is not in-network with any health insurance plan and does not bill insurance. Instead, it provides coded superbills that patients can submit themselves, and it accepts major credit cards, HSA and FSA cards. Payment is due at the end of each appointment and there is no payment plan. A free 15-minute discovery call by phone is offered to prospective patients, and a separate free discovery call is listed for ages 13 and up.

The clinic works from a whole-person view, using in-depth health assessments, advanced lab testing and customized treatment plans built around each patient's specific needs.
