Bay Spa sits on El Camino Real in Santa Clara, a few minutes from central Silicon Valley. The spa describes itself as the biggest in the Bay Area and as a premium Korean spa experience. It spans about 17,000 square feet over two floors and includes a cafe.

Day admission is $40 and includes a 30-minute massage chair session, and the fee is waived with any treatment booked. No appointment is needed to use the facilities, but day passes are sold in person only and do not allow re-entry. Bathing areas are separated by gender, with locker rooms, a hot jacuzzi, an ice plunge pool, and dry and steam saunas. Co-ed areas include a Himalayan salt room, a mud ball room, a jade room, an ice room, and lounges with desks and recliners. Resting and sleeping areas are set aside for men and for women.

Body treatments include scrubs with options such as aroma therapy, honey, brown sugar and coconut, mineral salt, or CBD oil, and body wraps made with house-made seaweed paste or a gold powder and serum. Scrub services take place in gender-separated wet rooms. Massage, chiropractic and acupuncture are arranged through East West Chiropractic and Acupuncture Clinic at this branch, with care provided by a licensed chiropractor and licensed acupuncturists. Insurance and injury claims must be handled at the clinic's San Jose or Fremont location.

Guests should arrive about 30 minutes before a booked appointment, as treatment times are not extended for late arrivals. Online reservations need to be made at least 5 hours ahead, and a credit card is required at booking to hold the reservation. Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice, and payment is taken in cash or by card at check-in. Tips are not included and are customarily 15 to 20 percent.

The spa focuses on relaxation and restoring body and mind, using natural and traditional ingredients alongside heat and cold.
