Bare Skin & Waxing is run by owner and esthetician Kim Elliott from a private studio in West Los Angeles. The studio works by appointment only, so each visit is a one-on-one session rather than a shared treatment room.

Before opening the studio, Kim launched Bella Luna Cuisine, a catering company that prepared healthy meals for the film and entertainment industry. Kim also spent many years as a Production Manager on television commercials. The business reflects that background in its scheduling and client care, though the skincare and waxing work is the focus of the studio.

The facial menu covers several goals. A Deep Cleanse Facial is recommended for acne or congested skin and includes skin analysis, a botanical enzyme, extractions, high frequency, facial massage and a purifying antioxidant mask. A Vitamin C Facial is aimed at hyperpigmentation, melasma and dull skin. The Super Lux Facial combines a deep cleanse with a seaweed enzyme mask, aromatherapy massage and an LED mask. The Age Defying Facial is an enzyme treatment with peptides and serums, and the Oxygen Facial is offered for dull or dehydrated skin. The studio says the Oxygen Facial supports circulation and collagen production. A Back Facial is a cleansing treatment for the back and shoulders.

PCA peels are offered as corrective treatments for acne, hyperpigmentation and anti-aging concerns. Because these peels are a more involved treatment, they begin with a consultation appointment that clients book by phone.

Waxing is offered for women and men. Hard wax is used for all Brazilian and Manzillian services, and the studio says hard wax results in less irritation and minimal discomfort. Hair should be at least a quarter inch long before a wax, which usually takes about three weeks to grow out. Clients are asked to stop retinol, Retin A, glycolic or salicylic products one week before facial waxing, and to avoid sun exposure for at least four days afterward. Ingrown hair removal is available during appointments, and an ingrown hair serum can be recommended.

The studio asks for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. A valid credit card is required to reserve an appointment, but is not charged until the appointment day. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full service price. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 7pm, Friday from 8am to 5pm, and Saturday from 9am to 3pm, with the studio closed Tuesday and Sunday. The studio says clients leave feeling pampered and rejuvenated.

Each visit is a private, personalized session in a relaxed setting, with treatments chosen around the individual client.
