Bare Rituals is based in an upstairs unit in Raleigh. Its stated mission is to offer customized waxing and skin care in an inclusive, welcoming environment, and it describes its own offering as elevated waxing, brow work and bespoke skin care.

Erin Carver created the business and performs the skin care work as an esthetician. Facials come in tiers, from a 30-minute express visit to a 90-minute session with up to three enhancements chosen for the client's skin needs. Other skin options include a dermaplaning facial, a back facial aimed at pigmentation and texture, enzyme peels, extractions, high-frequency and acne-focused treatments, and a first-time chemical peel that includes a consultation. Microneedling, which the business describes as collagen induction therapy, is offered in three tiers and is said to work best as a series of three sessions about a month apart.

Waxing is priced by area, covering underarms, arms, legs, chest, back, bikini and Brazilian areas, and the full face. Brow services include brow waxing with mapping, brow lamination with or without a hybrid tint, and a brow wax combined with tint. Lash services are a keratin lash lift and a combined lash lift and brow lamination. Hair should be at least a quarter inch long for the best waxing results, and the salon says results last about two weeks with proper prep and aftercare.

Clients are asked to stop topical exfoliants such as retinoids and hydroquinone 7 to 14 days before a facial. A card on file is required at booking. Changes made more than 24 hours ahead are free; later cancellations or reschedules may be charged half the booked services, and no-shows without notice are charged in full. Tips are included in service prices.
