Bare Hair Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal studio on the upper floor of a building in Riverton that it shares with an orthodontics practice, with a common parking lot. Em, whose full name is Emily Dalton, owns the studio and performs every session herself.
The studio covers the face, body, bikini and Brazilian areas, and legs. It also offers gender-affirming electrolysis, pre-surgical hair removal, hair removal connected to PCOS-related hair growth, beard line and neck shaping, treatment of ingrown hairs and razor bumps, electrolysis for athletes, and correction of hair that grew back worse after laser. It specializes in LGBTQ+ and gender-affirming care, including MTF facial clearance and full body hair removal, and says it works with all skin tones, hair types and body areas.
A first-time client starts with a free consultation that covers the process, healing, aftercare, goals and any questions. The first visit also includes a review of health history and a patch test. Sessions are priced by length, from 15 minutes at $40 up to 3 hours at $270, and the aim is to treat as much area as possible within the time booked. Red Light Therapy ($30, adds 15 minutes of red light to the face after a session) and the Skin Recovery Ritual ($30, which includes anaphoresis prep, extended cataphoresis and red light therapy) are available as upgrades. A small deposit holds each session booking.
The studio works with the Apilus xCell Pur electrolysis machine and surgical loupes, and says it has invested in what it considers the most advanced tools available. It reports a 5.0 rating from 16 reviews on its reviews page. Insurance superbills are provided for reimbursement, and the studio says it is becoming credentialed with the VA Community Care Program.
The studio welcomes all genders, sexualities, skin tones and body types, and does not ask clients to give a reason for hair removal. It describes electrolysis as the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal.
