Bare.co is a skin health and medical spa on Newhope Street in Fountain Valley. The spa draws clients from eight nearby cities: Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Westminster, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Irvine and Newport Beach. Founder Christylynn Vu, a nurse practitioner, carries out all injectable treatments, and Brandyn Dunn MD is the medical director.

Every treatment visit begins with an assessment of the face, the client's goals and their medical history before anything is injected. A consultation can be booked on its own with a $100 deposit, which is credited toward treatment if the client goes ahead. That deposit is kept for a no-show or a late cancellation, and cancellations or rebooking need more than 72 hours' notice. New-patient pricing changes monthly and is quoted by phone. Payment is taken at the time of service, and financing is available through Cherry, a third-party company that sets approval and terms.

Neurotoxin is priced at $13 per unit and is available with Dysport, Jeuveau or Daxxify; the practice does not stock Botox. Dermal filler options cover the lips, cheeks, chin, smile lines, jawline, temples and undereye, with products including the RHA Collection, Restylane, Revanesse Versa and SkinVive by Juvederm. Jawline, undereye and temple filler may be off-label for the product selected, and this is explained at consultation. Biostimulators include PRF EZ Gel, Sculptra and PRF for hair restoration.

Before use, the team patch-tests clients whose allergy history is unknown, and epinephrine is kept on site. Skin health treatments include a VI chemical peel, SkinPen microneedling alone or with PRF or PDRN, and SkinVive for the cheeks or neck lines.

The Spa Den facials range from a signature HydraFacial for deep cleansing, extractions and glow, to a deluxe version that adds lymphatic drainage, a customized facial with therapeutic massage of the scalp, neck, decolletage and arms, and a three-month acne program with three customized facials and an acne skincare kit. Membership costs $150 a year and includes 10% off injectables, 10% off skin health and Spa Den treatments, 15% off retail skin products, package and quarterly member promotions, and a $25 birthday coupon.

The practice does not carry out medical aesthetic procedures on clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. It also will not inject where the skin shows an active infection at the planned site, or where the client has had a known reaction to the product.

Puts skin health, safety and comfort first, with appearance as a secondary result, and aims for clients to feel their confidence and show it.
