The clinic combines dermatology knowledge with the hands-on skill of clinically trained aestheticians. Aestheticians are trained directly by Dr. Barba, spending six to eight months as medical assistants working alongside doctors. After earning their aesthetician degrees and state licenses, they complete another six to eight months of supervised clinical training with Dr. Barba.

The clinical facials were developed by the Barbas after about ten years working together in a busy dermatology practice, and each one can be adjusted at every visit. Clinical peels are tailored by the aestheticians to the client's skin care needs. Injectables and aesthetic treatments, including neurotoxin and filler, as well as laser and redness treatments, are handled by Barba Dermatology providers, and aestheticians can schedule those appointments for clients. Permanent hair removal uses the Gentle Max system with Alexandrite and ND-YAG laser options, combined with electrolysis when appropriate, and the clinic says laser hair removal does not require local anesthesia.

Online booking and payment plans are available. The clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 10 AM to 7 PM, Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and is closed Sundays. Appointments need 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel, and reminders are emailed 48 hours ahead and texted 24 hours ahead. Same-day or walk-in appointments are sometimes available. Cosmetic and aesthetician services are generally not covered by insurance, and Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted.

The Facial Membership gives 12 facial or peel treatments within 14 months, each under $250, for $169 per treatment. Members also receive 10% off retail products and additional services, a $400 cosmetic gift card for Barba Dermatology, free shipping on products over $75 and early notice of events. Retail products are sold online and in the office, and the clinic says each one is screened against clinical research before it is offered.
