A visit starts with a one-on-one consultation, and new clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to fill out an intake form. Each appointment includes an extra fifteen minutes for that consultation, and sessions are spaced so clients are not rushed. Clients undress to their comfort level and draping covers any area not being worked on. Steamed towels and heated tables come at no extra charge. Therapists work on commission, and tipping of 15% to 25% of the service price is customary.
Massage styles range from Swedish and deep tissue to myofascial, trigger point, structural, sports, pregnancy and hot stone work, and the Ultimate massage combines a 60 or 90 minute session with three add-ons of the client's choice. Add-ons such as steamed towel, peppermint foot, reflexology, hot and cold therapy and scrub focus can be added when booking or on arrival. Deep tissue and sports work are included at no extra charge within a standard massage. Sports massage is offered before and after events, and the business says post-event sessions shorten recovery time.
The membership is month to month, with no contract or automatic payments, and gives 20% off an appointment booked at the end of a session within 30 days. Packages of six or twelve sixty minute massages are offered at the membership rate and can be used within a year. Employers can use a corporate discount when buying massages for staff. Gift certificates can be bought by phone, email or in person, and they are transferable but cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash. Bookings require a credit card or gift certificate number to hold, and a 24-hour cancellation notice is required, with fees for late cancellations and late reschedules.
Sessions begin with a one-on-one consultation and are shaped around each client's needs, blending Swedish relaxation with deeper work on areas of tension. Therapists often suggest stretches, exercises and activities to help prevent pain.
