Babelab

Babelab is built around lip blush, a semi-permanent tattoo that adds color and shape to the lips by depositing pigment along the lip line. The studio also offers dark lip neutralization for cool or dark lips and a range of skin care treatments. The studio describes itself as Miami's number one lip blush studio.

Every visit begins with a free consultation for lip blush. The artist talks through lip goals, shape and color before any work starts. Lip blush is completed over two sessions, followed by a touch-up once the lips have healed. After healing, the color softens by roughly 30 to 50 percent and blends with natural lip tone. The studio says results can last several years, depending on lifestyle, sun exposure and skin care habits.

Dark lip neutralization is a series, usually two to five or more sessions, that works on existing darkness so a chosen shade can be applied afterward. Each session is assessed eight to ten weeks after treatment. Results generally last around a year and a half to two years or longer, and a color refresh every nine to twelve months is recommended.

On the skin care side, Babelab offers microneedling with the SkinPen device, which the studio describes as the first FDA cleared microneedling device. Microneedling is often done as three treatments spaced six to eight weeks apart, and the studio notes that deeper wrinkles, stretch marks or acne scars may call for six to eight sessions at six-week intervals. Redness usually lasts two to four days, and the studio says results can keep developing for up to six months.

Chemical peels, dermaplaning and facials round out the menu. Peels use lactic, salicylic, citrus and retinol acids along with antioxidants, and are used for hyperpigmentation, acne, rosacea and sun damaged skin; peeling usually lasts three to five days. Dermaplaning is manual exfoliation with a surgical blade and is recommended every four weeks. Facials are customized to lifestyle and skin concerns and include two PCA Skin options: a deep pore treatment and a three-step oxygenating facial.

The studio follows OSHA standards to keep the space clean and sanitary. Lip blush clients receive an individual consultation before treatment, and facials are tailored to each person.
