The school has been based in Baltimore for over a decade and describes itself as world renowned. It says it has enrolled students from several countries, including Nigeria, Jamaica, and India.
The flagship is a 40-hour Makeup Artistry Course that combines online and in-person learning. Week one is online, with platform access from 8am and live calls at 8pm on weekdays. Week two is in person, Monday through Thursday from 6pm to 10pm, with the exam on Saturday at noon. The program uses pre-recorded videos, live video sessions, and in-person sessions, and in-person attendance counts for half the grade.
Course topics include sanitation and disinfection, face shapes, basic skincare, facial techniques, highlighting and contouring, and strip and cluster lash application. Classes are capped at ten students and seats are filled first come, first served. To pass, students must complete the course and upload all assignments, and all testing and certification take place on the school's premises. Graduates receive a certification that the school says qualifies them for industry Pro-Cards and industry events.
According to the school, licensing is no longer required for this work, and its certification shows graduates were trained to industry standard. The 40-hour course is approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and is described by the school as a state-approved program recognized by Maryland and the industry. The school says its classes are taught only by experienced industry professionals.
Enrollment requires two valid forms of identification and a high school diploma, transcript, or GED. Students age 17 may enroll with parent or guardian permission. The school is a certified private career school and does not issue an EIN or Form 1098-T.
Financing options include in-house financing for qualifying students and installment payments through Shop Pay. Grants from the State of Maryland, local organizations, and programs may be available, with eligibility set by the Department of Human Services. Baltimore City applicants must be current TCA/TANF recipients or have a pending application on file with DSS to qualify for grants.
Refund terms: students who withdraw within seven calendar days of signing a contract receive a full refund of fees paid. After that, tuition refunds decline with the share of the program completed, from 90 percent under 10 percent completed to none beyond 50 percent. The Student Personal Practice Kit is non-refundable. Refunds are paid within 60 days of the last date of attendance. If the school closes or discontinues a program, currently enrolled students receive refunds of tuition and fees paid.
The school's approach is hands-on, combining online lessons with in-person sessions and graded practical work, with instruction it describes as led by experienced industry professionals.
