The AYA method combines Central Asian, European and American techniques, according to the founder. The paste is made from sugar, water and lemon juice and is applied at body temperature or slightly warmed. The founder describes the products as made from natural ingredients, hypoallergenic, vegan and not tested on animals. The studio says its technicians follow strict sanitation practices and that everyone working there has taken the founder's classes.
The studio describes its sugaring as less painful than waxing and suitable for sensitive skin, and its FAQ says sugaring can be done on the face after a conversation with a qualified technician. The female menu covers bikini, Brazilian and underarm sugaring, with combinations such as Brazilian with underarms or with half legs, and a butt strip or happy trail add-on. Bikini sugaring does not include labia or buttocks line hair removal. A Vajacial is performed only on hairless skin, typically three to five days after Brazilian sugaring. The men's menu covers the abdomen, chest, buttocks, lower and full back, and the Manzilian area.
Appointments can be booked at least an hour ahead through the online calendar. Cancellations or reschedules made at least 12 hours ahead, online or by phone, are credited to the client's balance, while missed visits or shorter-notice cancellations are charged in full. Memberships and packages are non-refundable, non-transferable and only cover the services they include. Gift cards are sold in set amounts or a chosen amount and expire 12 months after purchase.
The studio lists guidance for clients before and after a visit. Clients should avoid tanning and retinoid creams for 48 hours before, come with clean, dry skin, and not shave between appointments. Hair should be at least a quarter inch long. Sugaring is not recommended for uncontrolled diabetes, melanoma, open wounds, varicose veins or sunburn, and clients should not have used Accutane, Retin A, Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, Differin or antibiotics in the past month. Ingrown hairs are removed during the appointment rather than at home. The studio also offers a two-day First-time Sugaring Program with six hours of hands-on training daily, priced at $1,000.
