Austin Head Spa

Austin Head Spa is in suite 510 of the Westgate building at 4477 South Lamar Boulevard. The entrance faces Western Trails Boulevard, behind Central Market and the Regal theater, across the parking lot from Flow Yoga. Free parking is available directly in front of the building.

The salon describes its head spa treatments as luxurious and therapeutic, with a focus on scalp, hair and mind health. It says the treatments support scalp health, stimulate blood flow to the scalp and ease tension in the jaw, neck and shoulders.

A visit starts in the lobby. Clients text when they arrive and a practitioner comes to bring them to the treatment suite, so the callbox is not used. The lobby door stays locked, and clients leave using a touchless fob. Hair should arrive dry and detangled, and washing beforehand is not needed.

Every experience includes a detox soak, a clarifying scrub, a scalp massage and custom serums, and treatments finish with custom tonics. Longer sessions add steam therapy, a nourishing mask for hair and scalp, and a hair wrap with towels provided. The 90-minute experience, which the salon calls its most recommended service, opens with a digital scope scalp analysis. The 120-minute version adds an extended scalp massage, shoulder and decollete massage with hot and cold therapy, and light gua sha.

Booking is online through the Book Now link, and a waitlist is available when no suitable time is open. New clients pay a deposit between $45 and $120 depending on the service, and may receive 20% off their first treatment. Packages run for 3, 6 or 12 months and apply credits automatically at checkout, with Buy Now, Pay Later available. Gift cards come in $50, $75, $100 and $200 amounts or a custom amount, and sales are final. Blow-dry services are sent to the sister salon, Wildwood Salon.

Before a visit, clients who have had recent hair color or chemical services should wait about 7 days before a scalp detox. Head spa treatments are not recommended while hair extensions or braids are in, so those are best removed first. Clients should avoid washing their hair for at least 24 hours after a service and should disclose any allergies or sensitivities to skincare ingredients.
