Visits begin with a conversation. Stylists ask about hair history, goals, texture and upkeep before suggesting a service, and new guests complete a consultation before their first appointment. Haircuts and styling are offered for women, men and children, alongside color for women and men, curly and wavy hair services, extensions, and waxing.

Extensions are applied by tape-in, hand-tied wefts, I-tip, strand-by-strand, or transformation connectors, using PerfecTress, Cinderella Hair Extensions and Babe Hair Extensions. Application runs from about 45 minutes to five hours depending on method and amount. Every extension booking starts with a consultation for a full quote and requires a non-refundable 50% deposit. Extensions need maintenance every six to twelve weeks, which must be done at the salon. According to the salon, PerfecTress extensions can last up to a year with proper care.

The bridal team styles hair and makeup for brides, bridesmaids, flower girls, mothers of the bride, grooms and groomsmen, and for prom and formal events. Bridal services take place at the Howell salon, including early morning openings and full salon buyouts for wedding parties, or at venues across New Jersey for a travel fee. Complimentary consultations include a full quote for the wedding party, and bridal pricing varies by guest count, services, travel and timing. A bride's trial appointment is required at least three to four weeks before the wedding, and bridesmaids are strongly encouraged to have one too. Booking six to twelve months ahead is suggested, especially for spring, fall and popular weekends. On-site bridal parties receive complimentary coffee, tea, soda and water, and light refreshments can be arranged for an additional charge.

Color services use Goldwell professional products, including permanent, demi-permanent, fashion, blonding and refresh options. Some services, such as corrective color, major color changes, fashion color, blonding, and work over previous box color or uneven color, require a consultation first. Waxing is often booked ahead of weddings, proms, parties and vacations. Bookings are made online through the Phorest system or by calling 732-303-0052. Cancellations or changes need at least 48 hours notice, and appointments cancelled within 24 hours or no-shows are charged 50% of the service amount. Services are not refunded; guests with a concern should contact the salon manager promptly so the salon can review it before any correction elsewhere. New clients receive a welcome bag with a signature mask, 20% off retail, 20% off their next visit and a travel-size gift. A referral offer gives a referred friend $10 off, and the Guest VIP Rewards Program offers perks and discounts to regular guests at the Howell salon.
