Aura Salon & Spa operates from a facility of about 4,000 square feet in Sandy Springs. Under one roof it offers hair, skincare, makeup and a boutique. Founder Tara Miller leads the business, and partner Sara Caroline oversees the salon's internal education.

Visits usually begin with a consultation, where the stylist talks through a client's style and needs and builds a service plan. Color changes and extensions are planned this way. Corrective color and creative color are booked by consultation, and extension consultations are free.

The skin menu includes a 60-minute Aura signature facial with face mapping analysis, toning, extractions and massage, a 30-minute mini version, a 75-minute re-energizing facial, micro-dermabrasion, oxygen facial therapy and hot stone massage. Brow services range from a deluxe brow treatment to a semi-permanent brow dye and sculpt.

Bridal services can be done in the salon or on site at a client's venue. Couples book through a wedding planning form or by phone. Each bridal booking includes a consultation, a trial run about a month before the event, and the wedding day appointment. Clients are asked to arrive with clean, dry hair unless told otherwise.

The salon runs continuing education for its stylists, with monthly classes from February through September that range from fundamentals to advanced color correction. Stylists can also take one-on-one hands-on training with select educators and observe a top stylist's work in person.

The salon aims to be a safe, warm and welcoming place for every client. Each service starts with a consultation to design a plan around the client's own style and needs.
