AURA was founded by Sara Hinchliffe, who opened the locally owned salon after a dream she had held for several years. The salon serves Littleton and also draws clients from Ken Caryl, Cherry Creek, Evergreen and Morrison. It describes itself as Littleton's leading hair and beauty salon, and its stated mission is to inspire, inform and reflect individual beauty.

The hair menu covers women's, men's and children's cuts, coloring and lightening, hair extensions, chemical services, treatments, styling and bridal party work. Specialties listed include highlights, balayage, lived-in colors and gray blending. Stylist consultations are free, and every haircut includes a detailed consultation, a shampoo, a scalp massage and a blow dry finish. Prices depend on the level of stylist booked and can shift with hair length and texture. The salon has five stylist levels, based on time at the salon, years of experience and education.

The spa offers body wraps and scrubs, facials and skincare, waxing and tinting, makeup applications, and lash extensions. Facials use medical grade skin care products, and clients can choose from named treatments such as a Vitamin C focused glow facial, a stem cell microfacial that uses microchanneling, microdermabrasion with the Dermaglow system, and a six-session Glow Treatment series. Chemical peels use Marini SkinSolutions systems and are tailored to each client's goals, sensitivity and desired downtime. Spa professionals hold an in-depth consultation before waxing and spa appointments, and the salon says its aestheticians are licensed.

The med spa offers laser hair removal, IPL, microneedling, mesoneedling, RF sublative skin rejuvenation, and Sublime skin tightening with RF plus infrared, using four laser and IPL devices. Every laser and skin rejuvenation service begins with a technician consultation costing $50, which is credited toward the first treatment. The medical director, Dr. Douglas Minton, oversees the laser treatments. He holds a medical degree from the University of Colorado, completed residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is certified in Age Management Medicine through Cenegenics. The salon also offers permanent makeup, airbrush tanning applied by hand, and UV tanning in an Ergoline bed with built-in misting.

The salon says it uses quality products with quality ingredients and works with companies that take pride in what they make. Its hair salon and spa are set up so a visit feels like more than a haircut or color.
