Booking is done online, and a card number is required to reserve. Clients fill out a pre-visit form after booking. A consultation is complimentary, and when it is booked the same day as an appointment, its time is included in that appointment. Every color appointment begins with a consultation. Clients may work on a laptop during their visit, since a desk is set over the chair. Guests cannot join clients in the salon during appointments.

Stylists can recommend hair care products for use at home, including products a client already uses. Clients are added to an email list that receives quarterly community news. The salon was created by Stephanie (Steph) Allen, and its stylists are paid on commission, while its mentorship program pays hourly before commission.

Clients do not need to arrive knowing exactly what they want; stylists ask questions and offer practical solutions. Color plans are built after talking through hair history, current color, lifestyle, maintenance and budget.
