The studio sits in Flatiron between Park Avenue South and Broadway, near Madison Square Park and the Flatiron Building, and is a short walk from the 23rd Street stations on the 6 and the R and W lines. The salon describes the Russian manicure as its signature service and the one it is best known for locally. Most clients come from Flatiron, Gramercy and Union Square, with others from Chelsea and Midtown, often before or after work or on a lunch break.
The salon works only with the Russian technique and does not offer a basic gel manicure without cuticle preparation. Work is done with a dry e-file rather than soaking or foot baths. Single-use abrasives and sterilized diamond bits, each used on one client only, are part of the process. According to the salon, a Russian manicure typically holds three to four weeks with a clean grow-out. Nails showing redness, swelling or pus are not suitable for the service, and those clients are advised to see a doctor first.
The menu covers gel and hard gel Russian manicures, a regular Russian manicure in clear polish that takes about an hour and uses no gel, and SMART pedicures that use patented single-use disks on a dry e-file in place of blades. Extensions are built in hard gel or polygel with no extra charge for length, and fill-ins maintain existing hard gel extensions. French, chrome, stamping and ombre designs are added on top of a manicure. Prices may change depending on repairs, added length or nail art. Some services have a Top Technician rate that is a few dollars higher.
Booking is online or by phone. Cancellations or reschedules are requested at least 24 hours ahead, and cancellations on shorter notice or no-shows are charged the full booked service. The studio accepts credit and debit cards and Apple Pay but not cash, and sells digital gift cards. It is open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM. The salon states that all technicians are licensed under New York State requirements.
Works only with the Russian technique, using a waterless dry e-file for cuticle work, shaping and gel application, with no soaking.
