Artful Aesthetics is based in Dripping Springs and was founded by Mitra Jafari, MD, FACS, a board-certified surgeon. The practice focuses on PRF and microneedling, hair restoration and spider vein treatment. The business describes its services as luxury and its trust as elite-level, which are its own claims.

PRF is made from a blood sample of roughly 10 to 20 mL, drawn with a sterile, closed-circuit system and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich layer. It is collected in tubes with no anticoagulants or additives, and it can be applied to the skin or injected. The business says its PRF contains a higher concentration of white blood cells and stem cells than traditional PRP, and that it releases growth factors slowly over 7 to 10 days. Microneedling uses tiny sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries that the business says prompt new collagen and elastin.

Treatments are performed hands-on by a board-certified surgeon in a private, concierge-style setting. A medical aesthetics consultation takes 15 minutes and costs $50, but the fee applies only if no treatment is done that day, and a consultation is not required before booking a treatment. If a treatment is more complex, the price may be higher, and the change is communicated up front. Payment is taken by tap to pay or Venmo at the time of service. Clients can join a wait list for Dr. Jafari through the online booking site, and gift cards for products and services are available there. Inquiries are answered usually within one business day.

Before a PRF or microneedling visit, clients are asked to stop NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen and aspirin 7 days ahead, unless a physician has said otherwise for prescription blood thinners. Retinoids, vitamin C serums and AHA/BHA products are paused 3 days before microneedling, and alcohol and caffeine are avoided for 24 hours. Afterward, makeup, sunscreen and active skincare are skipped for 24 hours, and direct sun, saunas, steam rooms, hot showers and vigorous exercise are avoided for 48 hours. For sclerotherapy, compression stockings of 20 mm Hg are recommended during the day after treatment. Hair loss treatments and microneedling use a topical anesthetic, while spider vein treatment does not.

The business lists conditions that can rule out PRF with microneedling, including a history of keloids, active eczema, psoriasis, blood or clotting disorders, active cancer, immunosuppression, pregnancy or nursing, and others on its list.
