Aqua Lucca Head Spa is a private studio at 8000 W Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood, tucked into Studio 17 inside Salon Republic. The name is meant to evoke water and light, and the studio's focus is on wellbeing of the mind, scalp and body. There is one head spa bed and one therapist, so each guest is served alone. The head spa sessions blend traditional Japanese techniques, such as shiatsu massage, with modern scalp care and holistic remedies. The Signature Head Spa is a 60-minute session at $160 that opens with a scalp magnifier consultation, then moves through neck and shoulder oil massage, a herbal-remedy scalp treatment and shiatsu scalp massage. It also includes a nano mist scalp steamer, a deep cleansing steam shampoo, a gua sha massage with a jade comb and a waterfall head bath. The Luxury Head Spa runs 75 minutes at $175 and adds a longer shiatsu scalp massage, an optional facial pressure-point and lymph massage, and cryo cooling massage. The Tranquil Escape Head Spa is 90 minutes at $190 and builds on the Luxury session with Reiki energy healing from Kai Fujimoto. The Royal Premium Head Spa, at 90 minutes and $250, is described by the salon as its most complete experience; it includes the Luxury session, either a Premium Hair Growth Treatment or a Deep Scalp Purification, and an extended shiatsu scalp massage.

Add-ons can be added to a session for $75 each. The Premium Hair Growth Treatment applies a restorative scalp mask and a concentrated hair growth serum delivered with an oxygen atomizer; the salon describes the growth ingredient as patented and developed by Japanese scientists. The Deep Scalp Purification is a professional-strength scalp treatment aimed at dandruff, flakes, redness, itchiness, oil imbalance and buildup, without harsh stripping or scrubbing. The Curly Hair Care Add-On is complimentary and is designed for curl patterns from 3A to 4C. Blow-dry requests must be chosen in advance, and hair dryers are available after the service, with self-drying limited to 10 minutes. The studio also offers a Head Spa and Blowout Bundle.

The Intensive Replenishing Moisture Treatment is a five-step deep conditioning service for dry, brittle or porous hair. It costs $95 to $125, with an extra $30 for extra long hair. The salon says it enhances color radiance for up to five weeks.

Kai Fujimoto also teaches The Fundamentals of Japanese Head Spa, a class of 6 to 8 hours for a maximum of three to four participants. It covers head spa philosophy, scalp health, a full signature session, tools, scalp analysis, product knowledge and hands-on coaching. Private one-on-one classes are available on request, with pricing and dates provided by email.

Practical details: arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean the full service cannot be provided, and a cancellation fee applies. No-shows or late cancellations after the appointment time are charged the full service cost. The card entered at online booking holds the appointment and is not a prepayment; payment is taken on-site at the time of service. The studio is cashless and accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Cash, Zelle and Venmo are not accepted for the service itself, though they can be used for gratuity. Clients with tape-in extensions, or extensions that can loosen with oil, steam or moisture, are not recommended for head spa treatments, and massage avoids extension attachment points. The studio says its services are designed to be safe for pregnant clients, and clients should mention pregnancy when booking.
