Aqua Day Spa follows the traditional Korean spa format, pairing heat, water and body treatments in one visit at its Convoy Street location in San Diego.
The saunas and pools are separated by gender. The women's side includes a Himalayan salt and red clay room called JjimJilBang, while the men's side has a sleep room. Both areas have a hot jacuzzi, a cold pool, a steam sauna and a dry sauna.
Treatments are the core of a visit. The spa calls the body scrub the most typical service in Korean saunas. Scrubs can be paired with a massage, an aroma or coconut oil session, or one of three body wraps (ocean/seaweed, pineapple yogurt or gold extract). According to the spa, its wraps are deeply detoxifying, help circulation and hydrate the skin.
Guests who book a scrub are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes early to warm up in the jacuzzi or steam room first. Entry alone is $35 and is included with any treatment. An 11-entrance pass is $350 and gives 3 hours of spa access per visit. Buying ten of the same service earns the eleventh free. Gift certificates are available.
