April Hill Makeup Artistry is a one-artist makeup and hair business in Kannapolis, serving Charlotte and the surrounding area. Soft glam looks for weddings, special events and photoshoots are the core of the work, alongside bridal packages, airbrush makeup, lace wig installs and ombre powder brows.

April started in the beauty industry more than 15 years ago at cosmetic counters for brands including Fashion Fair, Estee Lauder, Philosophy and MAC. She later worked freelance, offering skin care consultations and makeovers, and went on to found alel beauty LLC, which sells luxury, sustainable mink lashes and custom lace wigs.

Every makeup application includes skin prep and primer, a foundation from a well-known brand or an airbrush foundation, and mink strip lashes. Makeup services range from a 1 hour Signature Natural Makeup Session at $150 and a 1 hour 10 minute Bridal Consultation and Trial Run at $150, to a 1 hour 30 minute Photoshoot at $300 and an Onsite Makeup Session with travel at $230. The Signature Bridal Makeup Package takes about 6 hours and is priced by request.

Ombre powder brows take about 2 hours 30 minutes and cost $500. A numbing agent is applied before and during the session, and healing typically takes 7 to 14 days. A touch-up is recommended about 6 to 8 weeks later, and results typically last 1 to 3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Certain medical conditions and prior brow work prevent booking, and the business describes the treatment as suited to all skin types.

Business hours are Monday through Saturday, 9AM to 5PM. Sunday appointments are arranged by email request and carry a $25 convenience fee, and early hours outside normal business hours add $25 per hour. Deposits are applied to the service. Cancelling within 24 hours, or a missed appointment not caused by the artist, makes the deposit nonrefundable and it cannot move to another date. Same-day makeup cancellations incur a $25 fee, and hair balances are due on the appointment date in cash only.
