The salon opened in Multnomah Village in 2006 with three stylists. That year members of the Huffstutter family acquired it, and in 2008 the owners bought Summit Salon Academy, a cosmetology school in Tigard. A second Lake Oswego location opened in 2021, and the salon now operates three locations.

Team members are supported with education and growth. The salon pays people to attend in-house educational events, offers four hands-on classes a year at every stylist level, and runs an Education Bank that lets each level withdraw funds for outside courses. Team members also receive monthly one-on-one coaching, individual class funds, health care support and a yearly staff retreat. Promotions are based on performance, and stylists who reach specific goals can become salon shareholders. According to the salon, its staff retention is in the top 5 percent of salons nationwide.

Guests can book online or call 503.293.5489, and gift cards are offered. Services are priced by stylist level, with Level 1 at the low end of each range and Level 9 at the high end. Listed prices are base prices, and final cost depends on hair type, service time and the amount of product used. An $8 Team Benefit and Eco Fee is added to every checkout, which the salon says funds team benefits and green initiatives. The site has an online Truth or Hair Quiz that suggests stylists, and a section listing the products the salon stands behind.

Community work is part of the salon's routine. Its best-known community event is the Cut-A-Thon held during Multnomah Days in the Village, which the salon says has raised more than $30,000 for Neighborhood House since 2010. Neighborhood House supports families facing hunger and homelessness, seniors, and children who need help in school. Every team member completes a paid five-hour shift at a community service event.
