Cheryl Pniewski founded the salon in 2005 and named it after her daughter and husband. It serves men, women and children at two locations: 47210 Hayes Road in Macomb, open Wednesday and Thursday 9 AM to 7 PM and Friday and Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM, and 48119 Van Dyke Avenue in Shelby Township, which is open by appointment Tuesday through Saturday. The Shelby Township space is rented from Salon Blonde. Both locations share one phone number.

The salon says it has joined many fundraisers since it opened and that helping others and giving back to the community are part of its mission. Its team also takes part in regular continuing education, both in the salon and at outside events.

Prices are not quoted over the phone. A free consultation gives an accurate quote. Clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their appointment. Haircuts include a shampoo and blow dry, and cut prices depend on hair thickness and the time needed for the result. Hair coloring is priced separately from the cut and finish, and dimensional color is priced at the appointment. Clients should mention any medication or wax-containing products before a chemical service, and pool or well water can affect hair and may call for a treatment first.

For weddings and events, bridal parties should be booked well in advance, and a deposit may be required. Whole-party scheduling comes with an itinerary that covers arrival times, hair, makeup and nail touch-ups. Wedding packages are available, catering for wedding parties can be arranged for a minimal fee, and three makeup artists work on wedding looks. Updos can include added hair, ribbons, knots and jewels and may take an hour or longer. Hair extensions are available through Easi-Hair and Revlon/Tresslure, and hair pieces are made of human hair and can be colored to match.
