About

The salon describes itself as ranking among the leading natural hair studios in the Charlotte area. Its central goal is helping clients achieve and sustain healthy hair, and its care extends beyond styling to emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. The interior is intended to be soothing and lifting.

Braiding is offered with an optional shampoo, deep condition and blow dry add-on, which is booked through Vagaro before the braiding appointment and costs an additional $35. Extra long braids carry an extra charge of $20 or more depending on length, and any prep work the stylist needs to do on the hair before braiding adds $10 or more. Clients who want a color outside the braiding color list may need to bring their own hair. The listed braid colors are 1, 1b, 2, 4, 27, 30, 33, 350, 99J, 613 and M1B/27.

Starter locs are started with comb twists in coils for traditional locs, or with two-strand twists. Traditional starters need hair at least 2 to 3 inches long, and two-strand starters need at least 3 to 4 inches. In the early stages, clients are advised to re-twist every two to three weeks, avoid washing or wetting the hair, and sleep in a silk or satin scarf or du-rag rather than a bonnet. The salon sells its own Anew You oil, which clients are advised to apply or spray on daily, and recommends the products its stylists use to avoid build-up in locs.

Visit logistics: all services must be added when booking, since stylists cannot add services on the day. Clients should comb through their hair before arriving, as extensive detangling is not included in appointment time and carries a fee. Cancellations or rescheduling need 24 hours' notice; later changes are charged the full service cost to the card on file. Cash, debit and credit are accepted, with a $3.00 fee on debit and credit payments. Parking is in the front parallel spaces or the public lot of Food Lion or Eastfield Bar and Grill, not in the back. Hours are Tuesday by appointment, Wednesday to Friday 11:00 am to 6:30 pm, and Saturday 7:00 am to 2:00 pm; the salon is closed Sunday and Monday. The full price list is on the website and in Vagaro, and the salon suggests Pose It Up, CLT and The Body Bank for event planning and other beauty needs.

Centers on helping clients obtain and maintain healthy hair, with attention to the whole person rather than only the hairstyle.

Designed to feel calming and uplifting.
