Andover Dermatology has provided skin care and dermatology services in Andover for more than 20 years, according to the practice. It is run as a group of physicians, and every patient is seen personally by a physician rather than by a nurse or technician.
Medical care covers acne, acne rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and skin rashes, along with patch testing, skin cancer screening (moles and birthmarks included), skin cancer treatment and wart removal. Cosmetic options include Botox, glycolic peels and skin tag removal. Facial concerns such as sun-related damage, brown spots and tiny surface blood vessels can be addressed with a Cynosure Icon laser.
Cosmetic services are not billed to insurance. They are paid when the service is provided, unless the office manager has arranged otherwise in advance. Non-cosmetic visits are billed to insurers the practice contracts with, which include Medicare, Tufts, Fallon, Aetna, Harvard Pilgrim, United HealthCare and Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Patients should check that their particular plan is among these. HMO members need a referral from their primary care physician before the visit.
All patients are seen by appointment only, and walk-ins are not accommodated. New patients are limited to immediate family members of existing patients. Patients are asked to bring their insurance card, photo ID, primary care physician's name, any referral, and a list of current medications and allergies. Cancellations require 24 hours notice, and patients may ask to be placed on a cancellation list for earlier openings.
The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Established patients can reach 24-hour emergency services through the answering service, and can call during business hours to speak with a nurse about an immediate concern. Prescription refills are requested by phone during business hours only.
