Alex Molchadskiy founded the salon after working at Peter Coppola Salon. About ten years ago he opened the boutique in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse section, and the salon's current address is 1719 Chestnut Street, on the fourth floor.

Visits take place in a space with state-of-the-art styling stations, a client lounge and a coffee bar. There is also a back patio where clients can have a glass of wine before or after a service.

According to the salon, Philadelphia magazine's Best of Philly awards have recognized it in four categories: braid bar, stylist for color correction, stylist for the quickie 'do, and, most recently, overall salon. The salon also reports recognition from Lucky and Allure.

Appointments are booked by phone at 215-569-1515. Hours are Tuesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Clients who cannot keep an appointment are asked to tell the salon at least 24 hours ahead by phone or email. Both keratin treatments require a consultation before booking.

Balayage is painted by hand using custom-made brushes and L'Oréal color, producing graduated highlights. The technique works on straight, wavy, curly, long and short hair, though not on very short or buzzed cuts, and its timing is about the same as foil highlights. Dry cutting, one of the salon's specialties, involves trimming hair that has already been washed, conditioned and blow-dried, although hair can be cut dry first when needed.

The salon's stated aim is for clients to look and feel beautiful.
