AMG Aesthetics operates from 7356 North La Cholla Boulevard in Tucson and also appears under the name AMG Center For Regenerative Medicine & Aesthetics. The practice describes itself as committed to the highest standards of medical aesthetic care in Tucson and as more than an average med spa, with a holistic approach. The site states that all treatments are overseen by a multi-board-certified physician. The two physicians, Dr. Amanda Bacchus-Morris and Dr. Gerald Morris, are a husband-and-wife team who also practice at AMG Medical.
A first visit begins with a consultation with Dr. Bacchus-Morris or Dr. Morris, who walk through the treatment options. The first appointment runs longer than later visits so the team can learn each patient's needs and goals, and the care plan takes overall health and lifestyle into account. Consultations can be booked online or by phone. The team includes a nurse injector, a laser specialist, a medical aesthetician, certified medical assistants and front desk staff. Hours are Monday noon to 6pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm, Wednesday 9am to 5pm, and Thursday and Friday 10am to 5pm. Select Saturdays are by appointment only, and weekday after-hours appointments can be requested by calling the office.
The injectable menu centers on Botox and Xeomin. Botox is used to help prevent certain wrinkles from forming, as well as to treat existing lines. Neuromodulator sessions usually take under 30 minutes, with a numbing cream applied first. The site says results typically begin within 48 hours, fully develop within two weeks and last three to four months. Xeomin is a botulinum toxin type A product, which the site describes as containing no accessory proteins and as FDA-approved for cosmetic use. It is used for frown lines, crow's feet and forehead wrinkles, with sessions of about 15 to 30 minutes and results that typically last three to six months. Xeomin can be combined with dermal fillers. The filler options are Belotero, Restylane and Radiesse. Belotero and Restylane are made mainly of hyaluronic acid, which adds volume beneath the skin. Radiesse contains calcium hydroxyapatite and stimulates collagen production, and the site says its results can last as long as 15 months. Most fillers last about 10 months to a year, and maintenance treatments can extend results. Fillers are placed in the mid and lower face, under-eye hollows, and the backs of the hands or arms. Filler appointments usually take less than an hour, and the site states that all fillers the practice administers are FDA approved.
Body contouring is handled with invisa-RED, a non-invasive treatment that uses infrared light and laser energy on the abdomen, thighs, arms and waist. The site describes it as painless with no downtime. Visible change usually appears within a few months as the body processes the treated fat cells, and the site advises keeping a stable weight because weight gain can reduce results. Morpheus8, an InMode device that pairs radiofrequency energy with microneedling, is used on the face, neck and decolletage and on areas such as the stomach, legs and buttocks. It is used for skin tightening, sagging, fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, stretch marks and skin texture. Results can take four to six weeks, and some people need one session while others need several. RF microneedling uses the same device, with sessions of 20 to 60 minutes and numbing applied 30 to 60 minutes beforehand. A series of three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart may be recommended. For laser work, IPL Photofacial targets brown spots, sun damage, broken capillaries, rosacea and uneven tone on the face, neck, chest and hands, and changes are usually visible after one to three sessions. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is offered for deep wrinkles, acne scars and skin texture. PicoSure Full Face Revitalization uses 532nm, 755nm and 1064nm wavelengths, and Pico Carbon Laser Facial applies a liquid carbon layer before the PicoSure treatment without a numbing solution. Pico Spot Focus is available as a targeted option. Exosomes and a Skin Rejuvenation Serum can be added to Pico Spot Focus and Pico Full Face treatments.
Regenerative options include Stemwave Therapy, a non-invasive treatment using acoustic waves that the site lists for musculoskeletal pain and tendon and ligament injuries. Treatment areas include the knees, shoulders, hips, neck, ankles, elbows, wrists and back, and sessions are described as private and comfortable. The site says the practice is a National Stemwave Training Center where providers from across the United States train. Stem cell therapy uses stem cells the site describes as carefully sourced. Four IV therapy options are available: Vita-C Infusion IV, a high-dose vitamin C infusion; Max Performance IV; Immunity Boost IV; and Recovery Plus IV, which contains hydrating fluids, amino acids and anti-inflammatory agents. PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, is made from a blood draw that is spun in a centrifuge and prepared as a gel. PRF EZ Gel can be injected or applied topically, and PRF is said to be used for lines and wrinkles, volume loss, hair thinning, facial contouring and acne scars. Sessions are usually four to six weeks apart, often as a series, and PRF can be combined with PicoSure and Morpheus8. The site calls PRF EZ Gel a superior option for natural tissue regeneration. Hormone optimization therapy, medically supervised weight loss and sexual wellness treatments are also offered.
Physician-led and individualized, with a care plan that considers overall health and lifestyle and an extended first visit so the team can learn each patient's needs and goals.
Stemwave sessions are described as private, in a comfortable treatment setting.
