Amelina Paraiso

Amelina Paraiso operates as a nail salon, an education center and a nail brand. Anna Amelina Paraiso founded the business and serves as its founder and CEO. She started working in nails at 13 in Ukraine. In 2011 she created and patented the Monroe nail shape, and since 2013 she has judged international nail competitions. Her work has appeared in Vogue, Elle and Esquire. She has also served as an educational partner for ORLY, Artistic Nail Design and NSI. After relocating to the United States, she developed the salon's e-file manicure and pedicure techniques and tools.

The salon's signature is dry service: manicures and pedicures are done with e-file techniques without soaking hands or feet in water. The salon says its e-file method removes only dead, keratinized tissue and leaves living skin alone. Sanitation uses e-file bits selected for different skin types and areas, and tools are cleaned, disinfected and autoclave sterilized after every service. The salon also describes itself as the first dry manicure and pedicure salon and the first e-file salon in the United States.

Services are grouped under manicure, pedicure and toenail care. Manicures include Aprés Gel with a selection of gel colors. Pedicures include e-file service and e-file heel crack and callus treatment. Toenail care covers NiTi brace correction for curled or ingrown toenails, done without surgery, and toenail reconstruction for damaged, detached or missing nails, offered by consultation. Simultaneous manicure and pedicure is available, with two technicians working at once in a specially designed chair.

The salon runs an education program for nail professionals. The E-File Pedicure Certification is a 4-week intensive totaling 32 hours with live models, held Sundays from 10 AM to 6 PM at the salon. It covers e-file theory and hands-on work including gel polish removal and cuticle work, and graduates receive a Certificate of Completion and CE hours. The course is priced at $2,499.00. The salon also develops its own nail bits, implements and techniques for its e-file approach and teaches advanced e-file techniques, gel extensions and sculpted French nails.

Clients should arrive 5 to 10 minutes early. Arriving 5 to 15 minutes late may mean not all booked services are done, and the full price is charged. Arriving 15 or more minutes late counts as a no-show and is charged 100% of booked services. Cancelling or rescheduling up to 48 hours ahead carries no charge; cancelling within 48 hours is charged 50% of the service price. Salon services are not refunded, and concerns must be raised within two days, when adjustments at no cost are offered with the original technician. Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult, and pets are not allowed during services.
