Ame Libre (also written Âme Libre) is a nail salon in Suite 130 at 8160 Mira Mesa Blvd in San Diego. The menu covers manicures, pedicures, dip powder, gel and soft gel extensions, nail art, and removal and repair of work done at the salon.

The salon offers four manicure options. A gel manicure for natural nails has a fixed price. A structure manicure uses builder gel to reinforce and shape the natural nail and suits short or medium nails. Gel extensions bond pre-formed flexible gel pieces onto the natural nail to lengthen it, and the salon recommends them for short natural nails. Dip powder adds a clear powder layer for strength before gel color, involves no extensions, and suits short, medium or long natural nails. Cuticle care is not included with dip powder.

Pedicures come in three versions. The basic gel pedicure covers toenail cleanup, an exfoliating scrub, gel polish and a 5-minute massage, but not callus removal. The pearl and green tea and honey pedicures both add callus removal and a longer massage, and are paired with a six-step spa treatment: pearl for the first, green tea and honey for the second.

Nail art is sorted into four levels by how many fingers are decorated and how detailed the design is, from simple accents on one to four fingers up to full custom art on all ten. Levels 3 and 4 need inspiration photos sent ahead by text or Instagram DM. Chrome and cat eye effects can be added to a service for an extra fee, and a French tip is also available.

Removal of builder gel, Gel-X or acrylic is priced differently depending on whether it is paired with another service. Nail repair is offered per nail for cracked, broken or lifted nails that were originally done at Ame Libre; repairs are not offered for work from other salons.

The salon is open Monday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Clients can book appointments online through the website.
