Amby Braids

Amby Braids works in Pawtucket and specializes in knotless braids, offered in extra small, small, shmedium, medium and large sizes. Online scheduling is not available, so clients contact the business directly to book.

Weekday appointments run from 2pm to 9pm, and Saturday slots run from 9am to 9pm. The extra small, small and shmedium sizes are booked on Saturdays and Sundays only. Services can run past the time slot, so clients are asked not to schedule other events, appointments or meetings on the same day.

Payment and deposits are straightforward. A $15 deposit is taken at booking and goes toward the final price, which is paid in cash only. The deposit is returned if cancellation is made with at least 24 hours' notice. Clients who neither call nor show up are banned from future bookings and forfeit the deposit; a missed appointment is treated as a no-show once 25 minutes pass without any contact.

Before a visit, hair should be washed, dried and stretched, free of leave-ins, grease, oil, gels and creams. Small and shmedium knotless braids need hair at least four inches long, and medium and large sizes need more. A service may be declined if hair is not washed and dried or is shorter than the required length. Hairstyle changes must be reported at least 24 hours ahead; changes made on the spot add $15 to the service cost.
