The business is run by Santaj Jacque', a cosmetologist with more than 25 years of experience, and it centers on teaching hair care people can carry out themselves. Its main offering is classes: group and one-on-one braiding, product knowledge classes on ingredients and choosing products by hair type, and hair cutting classes from basic trims to advanced techniques. Sew-in extension classes cover adding length and volume, and loc classes cover starting, maintaining and styling locs. Natural hair care classes address hair textures and styling, offered in group and one-on-one formats.

Families and young people have a place here too. Camps and natural hair classes for kids and teens run through the year, and there are classes for parents and for foster and adoptive families on hands-on care and styling. Free braiding classes for youth aged 10 to 17 meet at Montavilla Community Center on Tuesdays from 5 to 6 pm and at Charles Jordan Community Center on Thursdays from 6 to 7 pm. Hair appointments are available for new clients when a time can be found. Color services, major transformations and loc starts may require a consultation before booking. Appointments are booked through the Vagaro booking site. New clients pay a non-refundable deposit that counts toward the final total. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations forfeit the deposit and are charged half the service price. Children receiving services are welcome, while additional children need their own appointment, and clients are asked to attend alone unless arranged in advance.

The business also reaches beyond its walls. It partners with the Oregon Department of Human Services Child Welfare to provide LoveSome products to foster and adoptive families of ethnic children, and it distributes LoveSome products to Coffee Creek Correctional Facility.
