Alissthetics is run by its owner, Alissa, who has been waxing since 2019. The studio centers on Brazilian waxing and takes first-time Brazilian clients as well as returning ones.

The business says its aim is to remove hair while keeping the skin protected. It describes waxing as pulling hair from the root, which it says makes hair take longer to return and gradually grow back thinner and sparser. Smooth results are described as lasting about two weeks, and the business says waxing helps minimize ingrown hairs. It recommends booking repeat appointments every four to six weeks.

Clients are asked to prepare in advance. Those who use alpha hydroxy or glycolic products should stop 48 to 72 hours before waxing, and anyone who has used Retin-A, Renova, acne medication or Accutane needs to be off them for one year. Antibiotics require a seven-day break, tanning beds should be avoided for 24 hours beforehand, and a fresh chemical peel or microblading should not be done before face waxing. Waxing is not performed on sunburned skin or on skin with active infections or breakouts.
